We have worked at many many venues over the last 20 years and here is a list of venues that have real strengths.
Venues we have worked at and are favourites include:
Acton Trussell Moat House in stafford is a beautiful mix of modern and ancient with some amazing scenery and buildings. It is a wonderful backdrop to your photos and we have had some fantastic images captured here. The staff are notably professional.
Alrewas Hayes set in countryside surroundings in Alrewas, Staffordshire (off the A38) A beautiful bridal suite is a fantastic start to the photos plus some wonderful interior spaces, courtyards and marquee. Also there is a beautiful lake.
Capesthorne Hall is a vast elegant venue. With acres of wow locations for wedding photos and a staircase to die for. This feels like getting married at Downton Abbey! Located on the A34 near Macclesfield.
Consall Hall Gardens near Cheddleton Staffordshire is an ideal summer venue for weddings. Not really a hall but definitely a garden created by it's owner with the most splendid and varied 'follies' that make super photos. The reception venue is a large well dressed hall. Wet weather must be considered when using this venue.
Cranage Hall located just off the M6 near Holmes Chapel is a former mansion house, extending to create a vast modern hotel but with many of its original lovely fixtures. Tastefully decorated and with a large and beautiful front garden which is great for all your outdoor wedding photos. The interior is also rather helpful for winter weather and rainy days with a number of photo opportunities.
Crewe Hall near Crewe has some of the most fabulous interiors for a vast array of potential photos both in and outside. Is is a venue that caters for both small close knit and large 100 plus weddings. Both the front and the back of the building have outdoor formal gardens which are perfect for pictures.
Goldstone Hall is a family run private country house and restaurant. Perfect for smaller weddings they but also have the space for large weddings using their excellent marquee. It's forte is the perfectly manicured garden, outdoor wedding pavilion and the outstanding catering. You are guaranteed a very warm and highly professional welcome.
Heath House is a one of the best wedding venues in North Staffordshire as it boasts 125 Acres of parklands and a stunning Italian Garden which are wonderful settings for photographs. The house is still owned by the family who built it nearly 200 years past. Wedding guests can use the majority of the house for their wedding, photographs and drinks receptions and a very large permanent marquee offers space for large receptions. Certainly one of my favourites which is why it is featured on our web site.
Heaton House Farm between Leek and Macclesfield offers a very different approach to weddings. This is a rather unique wedding location with super countryside vistas and vast stone built barns all decked out for a perfect wedding party.
Hunters Lodge near Crewe is an 18th century farm conversion to modern hotel offering good facilities for your wedding in pleasant surroundings.
Keele Hall in the grounds of the university is a vast and spectacular building that has a plethora of rooms to cater for any wedding. The old house has spectacular possibilities for photographs and the Italian gardens make some of my favourite photo backgrounds. As a location to get married the hall has one of the best marriage rooms in the area as it is large, bright and with amazing interior period decor. If it is raining the building still offers many locations for photos in and around the old hall making it a really good location for your wedding.
Little Moreton Hall near Congleton is not a wedding venue but we have done 1 very spectacular photo shoot here with the bride and groom who married at Pecks. No, you can't get married here or have your reception but it would be nice to!
Moat House Hotel (Stoke on Trent) is a little confusing as there is no moat. It does, however, have some really smart gardens and with a little imagination some really fine photos can be captured. The old house is beautiful and the large hotel has space for the largest of weddings.
Moddershall Oaks near Barlaston has gone from strength to strength as the must see wedding venue. Starting out as a spa they have expanded their services and found they had a real talent for weddings. The beautiful lake and surroundings make a wonderful backdrop to your wedding and the addition of an outdoor wedding location is fabulous. Working here is a real pleasure and the photos are lovely.
Peckforton Castle in Cheshire can offer you what most venues can not. It's a castle! And that makes it the top of the list for many celebs and high fliers. If you have a budget that stretches it is absolutely superb and you probably already know about it.
Rookery Hall near Nantwich is a surprise to most people when they see it for the first time. The standard of accommodation and facilities are outstanding and we have attended many weddings here with very happy customers. Both the front and the rear of the old house offer beautiful backdrops. Another real favourite of ours.
Sandon Hall really has got it all, Long drive, huge mansion, Downton Abbey feel, Flowing Staircases, amazing views and magnificent gardens. Photographing weddings here is a real blast and I really can't wait to do another!
Slaters Country Hotel. I used to find Slaters rather a difficult wedding venue as it was small and lacked photo opportunities but all that has changed over the years. It now boast a separate wedding room and some really lovely features and coupled with the outstanding scenery and fantastic service has become one of my most visited venues. I feel quite at home here and love working with the excellent staff.
Somerford Hall perfectly placed in the countryside between Cannock and Cosford. It is rather beautiful and more subtle than some of the vast estates that offer weddings. Catering for a maximum of 60 day guests this is a more discreet and classy offering and you would feel quite at home working with the team. For photographs it is absolutely stunning.
Stone House Hotel in Stone is a really excellent wedding venue and the team have years of experience making your wedding day perfect. Catering well for photographs as it has a hidden garden that is just the right size to get some great photos.
The Ashes Endon near Leek, Staffordshire has established itself as the venue to go to. Multiple barns offer both wet weather opportunities, 360 degree views across stunning rural countryside a lake and a pond. They also have a rustic feel with the fabulous sandstone barns and old house. Winning a plethora of awards for service and being the perfect wedding venue for the modern couple means you cannot go wrong. This venue has left many a bride with the dilemma of too many good photos to choose from.
The Three Horseshoes between Leek and Buxton is located next to some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. We first did weddings here back in the 90's when it was really just a country pub but the owners vision for expansion and improving has absolutely revolutionized it. Still looking like a country pub from the front it is deceptive as to the rear they have the most wonderful wedding venue and views over the rocks and crags of The Roaches. Take a short car journey in your wedding car and there are some wow photos to be had just 5 minutes away both high in the crags or down by the reservoir.
The Upper House in Barlaston is without a shadow of doubt our most frequently visited location both for wedding photographs and simply to enjoy afternoon tea. The feeling you receive when visiting is one of relaxing comfort and being at home as the team who run this very delightful and warm feeling venue with make sure your every need is catered for. Their attention to detail is outstanding and I have never seen anything out of place. Over the last 20 years we photographed some of our most memorable weddings and returning is an absolute pleasure.
Weston Hall near Stafford has come from humble beginnings in wedding terms but the owners have transformed the interior look of this lovely mansion into a fantastic wedding venue. They have also created rather super terraces and bar areas in front of the house, a real sun trap. Taking photos at Weston Hall is really rather simple because everything is right there, where your guests are, and means as the bride and groom you never feel you have abandoned them. We love it.
Whiston Hall is set to become a desired venue as, now under new management, a vast sum of money is being spent to turn this country home into a first class wedding venue. Their expansion plans are impressive and with the location offering unparalleled views over the Staffordshire countryside it is sure to impress you. The team are sure to meet your every need. Taking a trip out on one of their complementary golf buggies will take you into the heathlands and beauty that takes your breath away on their manicured fairways.
Willington Hall Near Chester is a real gem and has the most fantastic photo opportunities. I really hope to travel here again some time. Last time my bride and groom jetted in on a helicopter! Very cool!
Wychwood Park is a new purpose built hotel and golf club near Crewe and offers such a vast array of options it is hard to explain. The potential for photographs is expanded impressively by the offer of a golf cart to go off around the acres of grounds taking some photos within the panoramic scenery.
And many many churches. It is always very good to hear that a bride and groom decide getting married in a church and making vows to God is important. We are always more than happy to work in a church as we feel that making your vows before God is very special. We have worked in such an array of churches over the years that attempting to review them would be too time consuming. Why not give us a call if you are getting married in a church as we may well have been there recently.
